Reduce, Reuse and Recycle

Last week we learned all about reduce, reuse and recycle and keeping our Earth clean!

We wanted to make a difference in our community so we took a walk to the high school to pick up the baseball field! We found a lot of trash that needed to be picked up! To celebrate our success we played a couple games of duck duck goose before heading back to the elementary school!

We planted some grass and had a chance to watch it grow! It is amazing how tall some of the grass grew so quickly! We may need to get out the mowers :)

We worked in small groups to create posters about reduce, reuse and recycle. We had a blast thinking of ideas of ways to reduce, reuse and recycle with our friends!

We read books about greenhouses and created our own greenhouses with lima beans! We can't wait to see them start to sprout soon!

Grasslands

We learned about about the North American grasslands last week. The kids created a grassland collage and learned about the different animals and plants that live in the grasslands!

Here is a 3D book page the kids made on the SMART board about the grasslands! They were very excited to share this with their family and friends:

Charles came to visit and he taught us all about the grassland animals and the types of grass you will find in the grasslands! He brought some animal fur and a real snake to share with us! He even helped us to weave grass!

Here are our collages and writings:
